Diving and Snorkeling Tours in Iceland
Silfra and other sites where the water is so clear you can see over 100 metres.
Choose your tour
Silfra is a fissure between the North American and Eurasian plates in Þingvallavatn, filled with glacial meltwater filtered through lava for decades. It is cold — 2 to 4 °C — but a dry suit keeps you dry and the visibility is among the best freshwater visibility anywhere.
Snorkeling in Silfra
A float in a dry suit along the fissure with a guide keeping the group together. No diving experience needed, but you must be able to swim.
Diving in Silfra
For certified divers: more time in the water and the squeeze between the tectonic plates, with gear included.
Silfra and the Golden Circle
Snorkeling in Silfra plus the Golden Circle in one day — a sensible pairing if you have only one day around Þingvellir.

Before you book
- You must be able to swim and be in good health; dry suits are tight and some people find breathing in them awkward.
- Do not book if you have a heart condition or are pregnant — operators have health requirements you must meet.
- The water is 2–4 °C year-round, and thermal layers under the suit make the biggest difference.
